Robin Chretien is the founder and designer of Robin’s Jean. Born in Lyon, France, Robin’s creativity and passion comes from his roots, particularly his parents. He ventured overseas and landed in Los Angeles, California in 1996. His talents brought him recognition among denim brands such as Blue Cult and Hudson Jeans. His warrior spirit and a fondness for motorcycles, antique cars and vintage cinema brought forth a dream to launch his own brand. In 2005, He established Robin’s Jean with the signature gold wings which symbolized his childhood dreams of freedom and flight. Robin’s Jean products are sold in approximately 800 specialty stores with major retail partners nationwide and in the international market.

How to Dry Corn. To save for a rainy day or to provide nutrition during times of trouble, drying various meats, fruits and vegetables have been done for centuries. The best way of drying corn is on the cob using a modern oven. Dried corn can then be rehydrated for soups, popped on the cob or used as decorative elements.

DRYKORN, on the other hand, is a Kitzingen, Germany-based label known for its metropolitan, reachable and progressive styles which exudes a certain cool snobbish edge. The brand’s 70s luxury, preppy chic wardrobe and greaser rock & roll biker looks have grabbed the attention of media and fashionistas worldwide.

Founded in 1996 by Marco Goetz, the brand initially specialized in fashionable pants for men & women. Throughout the years, the label expanded its apparel lines into knitwear, jersey, suits, coats and accessories. Fabrics are mainly ordered in Italy and France. Today, DRYKORN is distributed internationally in Europe, North America and Asian/Middle Eastern countries such as China, Dubai, Japan and Russia.

The French word Façonner (pronounced “fassonee”) means to create, to mold, fashion, form or give a shape to. This is the same word that a variation was used to name an international high end men’s and women’s tailored clothing French company.

Founded by Jean Goldberg in 1950 and later on headed by his son Albert Goldberg, Façonnable (pronounced “fuss-saw-nab”) is headquartered in Nice, France. In 1988 through the 1990s, Nordstrom partnered up with the company to provide exclusive distribution in the United States via Nordstrom retail stores. The first women’s line was launched in 1995. By the year 2000, Nordstrom finally purchased Façonnable SAS and founder Albert Goldberg retired. After a few years, a Lebanon based family-owned company, M1 Group, purchased Façonnable in 2007. Along with sub-brands such as Façonnable Azur and Façonnable Sport, the company recently launched Façonnable Jeans catering to the US market and Façonnable Tailored Denim in Europe.

Today, Façonnable is available in 24 stores in France, 42 stores around the world, including 9 in the USA. The brand represents modern elegance and French luxury valuing authenticity over pageantry.

Iro in Japanese means hue or color. In the fashion world, IRO is more than just a color splash. IRO is a French brand that combines Parisian chic, vintage rock & roll edge and modern New York streetwear. With a background in the music industry, brothers, Laurent and Arik Bitton, started IRO in 2002. Their first boutique opened in St. Germain, Paris in 2005. By the way, if you’re wondering how to pronounce the name, it’s “Eeh-ro” similar to hero with no h.

What's the best way to remember a birthday? Write it on a pair of jeans. Nice.

What’s the best way to remember a birthday? Write it on a pair of designer jeans. Nice. And if you write your own birthday on the clothes you make, I’m pretty sure you’ll get loads of greetings and even gifts on your special day. So you need to get ready with the overflow of text messages on your iPhone soon. In good humor, 575 Denim, now called May 75 jeans, was founded by Frank Mechaly. Born in Marseille, France and raised in St.Tropez. Mechaly, together with southern California native, Shaun Hurley, from Sacred Blue, made a partnership to develop the 575 Denim/ May 75 brand into a classic yet cutting edge jeans brand.

The 575 Denim/ May 75 Jeans home is located in Downtown Los Angeles, California. They have over 200 people in staff on site to sew, grind, sand, tack and wash every pair of jeans. The designer jeans are produced in-house with Italian and Japanese fabrics. With that laid back Los Angeles lifestyle, the brand has garnered recognition among Hollywood celebrities and worn on many TV shows. 575 Denim/ May 75 Jeans was also featured as one of the top celebrity worn jeans during the 2006 Sundance Film Festival by Hollywood Life Magazine. Due to the growing demand, they have also launched a children’s line.

Various designer denim styles include but not limited to the 575 Denim Palace in straight leg, the 575 Denim/ May 75 Butcher jeans in vintage straight, Vagabond jeans in light wash snug and straight, 575 Denim/ May 75 Parliament jeans in low rise and skinny and the Seersucker Trim jeans in dark wash orange topstitching with faded and distressed whiskers.

The 575 Denim/ May 75 washes vary from “The Frank”, “The Beverly Hills” to “The Farmers”. All point to the myriad of interests and landmarks in Los Angeles.

575 Denim/ May 75 jeans does not only showcase the outdoorsy Los Angeles lifestyle or the unique intricate details as a penny button closure but also reflects a more personal touch created from the founders’ passion to quality denim. By the way, if all else fails, that penny button closure on your designer jeans may likely pass for extra change on the parking meter.
