Streets of New York. Urban street culture. Classic jean lifestyle. European attitude.

Since October 2007, aemkei has been put on hold. The founder, Markus Klosseck, is now focusing on new ventures.

In retrospect, aemkei began in 1995 with the concept of mixing together New York street culture, urban lifestyle, European attitude and a global creative input. In 1998, aemkei, Aem’Kei or phonetically “M” and “K” from Markus Klosseck’s initials established its market distribution in USA, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and Canada. Its jeans and clothing style has reworked classics into a crisp and fresher design. In 2004, their headquarters moved from New York, USA to Berlin, Germany.

Aemkei’s collections are interesting to say the least. The look book is fun and quirky. The labels on the clothes are distinct and noticeable. For women, the names end with “-ina”. For men, the tags end with “-or”.

Women’s jeans and clothing line have various selections. Aemkei dresses are named Moonina, Dressina, Multina, Milkina, Superina, Clubina, Tubeina, Waterina and Babyina. Aemkei tops are called Daisyina, Capina, Zigzagina and Puzzleina. Aemkei jeans and pants refer to as Slimina, Rebeccina, Marsina, Nipponina and Satina. Aemkei accessories have the belt Wrapina and Odysseina and the tie Tieina.

Men’s fashion line have peculiar names too. Aemkei shirts are called Dandyor, Galaxior, Eclipsor, Loggor, Cliptor, Plutor, Uppor and Pixelor. Aemkei accessories have the tie Slipsor, flask Flascor, hat Stator, belt Whippor and scarf Plor. Aemkei tops and outerwear include the jackets Astronauticor and Peakor and sweaters Observator and Zickzackor. Aemkei jeans and pants have Carightor, Dartor, Robertor, Skinnor, Crossor and Bustor.
