Some people say that genuine faith is tested and found amidst adversity and pain. But others attest that True Religion is seen with a smiling Buddha strumming a guitar on their favorite designer denim jeans.

From previous affiliations with brands such as Bella Dahl, Jefri Jeans and Hippie Jeans, Jeffrey Lubell and wife Kimberly founded True Religion Brand Jeans in 2002. Los Angeles, California based, True Religion Apparel Inc. and through their subsidiary Guru Denim Inc., manufacture, develop, design and sell high fashion jeans, sportswear, apparel and accessories.

The entry and inception of True Religion Brand Jeans in the designer denim jeans industry rocked the fashion world. They are one of the pioneers of ultra high end denim in colorful and thick contrast stitching, twisted inseams and stylishly embroidered large flap back pockets. To add to that, the trademark smiling Buddha strumming a guitar and horseshoe shaped rear details are some of the more recognizable labels in designer jeans. The millennium has definitely seen this chic bohemian design trend spread out through fashionistas around the world.

From "Vague" to "Creative Intelligence". Conceived from a dorm sticker. Jeanswear and clothing lines continue to unfold its creativity.

From “Vague” to “Creative Intelligence”. The conception of Ambiguous clothing started with one word: vague. In the mid 1990s, Frank Delgadillo’s dorm room bed showed a sticker with the word “vague” on it. This sparked his urge to chase his dream of making clothes that his friends would want to wear. The garments should be wearable for his artist, musician, skateboarder, snowboarder and surfer friends.

His design principles on jeanswear and clothing lines present an indifference to convention and a rebellion against too much elaboration. With solid roots and dynamic designs, his raw Ambiguous clothing gained an underground following within the southern California boarding community and Japanese kids. Today the dream has grown into a huge family and continues to unfold its creativity.
