Eddie Bauer is known today not just for its outdoor clothing but also how it integrated its brand in Ford vehicles, car seats, strollers, diaper bags, camping gear, lane furniture and even interior paint. The company was established in 1920 in Seattle by Pacific Northwest outdoorsman Eddie Bauer. In the 1930s, he was able to patent a regulation badminton shuttlecock and the “Skyliner” which is the first quilted goose down jacket in North America. Eddie Bauer was also the first independent company to incorporate their logo in the United States Army uniform. A paradoxical and almost sacrilegious monicker to the central figure of Christianity would definitely draw attention to the faithful and the faint of heart. A crown of thorns as part of the logo jolts the senses of traditionals and conservatives. The gsus brand shakes it all up.

Based in Amsterdam in The Netherlands, the gsus brand started out in a skate shop in Arnhem back in 1993. What began as selling funky prints, pinstripe cargo pants and the infamous fur bikini from a car trunk, paved way for gsus sindustries, which carries the gsus brand, to estabish their first real office building in an old warehouse in Amsterdam. By now, the company has managed to sell their apparel and fashion line in 27 countries around the world. Furthermore, in order to connect to the streetwear scene and the communities around them, they have organized infamous parties (Meubelstukken – Club Filth, Slaapmuts – Club 8 and Heavens Playground – Westerstraat) which have been endorsed and attended by hundreds of people worldwide.

The gsus philosophy teaches us that “It’s not always about the big things either; it’s the ability to appreciate the small things that really matters… There are so many things out there to discover, you just need to keep an open mind and take a closer look.”

It all sums up in two words: “Keep discovering.”

On the other hand, glamour is a quality of excitement, desirability, and compelling attractiveness in one’s appearance or manner. Hysteric glamour would then be a wild outpouring of emotions of other people due to one’s own social or cultural status as what usually happens when seeing or meeting celebrities and famous personalities.

The Hysteric Glamour brand sprung up as Nobuhiko Kitamura became chief designer. Born in Tokyo, Japan, Kitamura began working for Ozon Community Corporation. Having seen Kitamura’s provocative eye for design, the company allowed him to develop a new unisex brand. Inspired by both the American pop culture and music from the 1960s-70s and the contemporary context of Japanese culture, Kitamura launched Hysteric Glamour .

There are 5 minor brands of Hysteric Glamour.

Hysterics: Hysteric Glamour’s high end women’s line focuses on decadent expression of female sensuality and artistic style sensibilities.
Thee Hysterics XXX: Hysteric Glamour’s high end men’s line draws attention through its rock & roll styles wrapped up in richer, tighter and edgier designs.
Hysteric Glamour Womens: The clothing line follows from the motifs of 1960s to early 1980s American and European Rock & Roll. It combines sensuality and edge.
Hysteric Glamour Mens: With a similar era of inspiration to women’s, the men’s line showcases military styles and uniforms. It is influenced from underground comics, porn and muscle cars.
Joey Hysteric: This is the children’s line reflecting themes from both grown up apparel of the brand.

Quadrangle Jeans by Patrick Mohr

Geometry states that an equilateral triangle is a three sided polygon in which all three sides are equal or even equiangular. In culture and society, equilateral triangles can be found on archeological sites, modern architecture, religion as a representation of the trinity and even everyday road signs.

On the other hand, a quadrangle is nothing but 2 connected triangles. It’s any four sided shape which doesn’t need any right angles. It also does not have to be a square, rectangle or rhombus. In architecture, a quadrangle is usually a rectangular space or courtyard.

The equilateral triangle and the quadrangle are signature elements used by Germany based former model and fashion designer Patrick Mohr. His style is eclectic eccentric and avant garde streetwear. It’s deconstructed and grungy.

Patrick Mohr’s Quadrangle Jeans just launched October 2009. Last December, the initial batch of denim just arrived in select stores around Germany. (Pool in Munich, Gold in Cologne, Azita Store in Frankfurt and Extrafein in Berlin)
