The name “Mac” is perhaps among the most well known and most used names in history and culture today. Many times, people use it as a shortcut to names with a prefix of Mc or Mac, such as McDonald, McGwire, Mackenzie or even MacGyver. Apple’s Macintosh computer and operating system are widely utilized by the Internet generation. For women, MAC could mean a cosmetics and make-up brand.

In jeanswear fashion, MAC is a German denim label founded in 1973 in Wald/Rossbach. Initially, production focused exclusively on trousers and has gained continuous success. Over the years, MAC has combined fabric durability and design creativity in their products. The Bi-Stretch Denim, high proportion stretch Dream Jeans and the uniquely fit Power Denim are just among the many innovations that the brand has produced.

How to Dry Corn. To save for a rainy day or to provide nutrition during times of trouble, drying various meats, fruits and vegetables have been done for centuries. The best way of drying corn is on the cob using a modern oven. Dried corn can then be rehydrated for soups, popped on the cob or used as decorative elements.

DRYKORN, on the other hand, is a Kitzingen, Germany-based label known for its metropolitan, reachable and progressive styles which exudes a certain cool snobbish edge. The brand’s 70s luxury, preppy chic wardrobe and greaser rock & roll biker looks have grabbed the attention of media and fashionistas worldwide.

Founded in 1996 by Marco Goetz, the brand initially specialized in fashionable pants for men & women. Throughout the years, the label expanded its apparel lines into knitwear, jersey, suits, coats and accessories. Fabrics are mainly ordered in Italy and France. Today, DRYKORN is distributed internationally in Europe, North America and Asian/Middle Eastern countries such as China, Dubai, Japan and Russia.

Born in Elmira, New York, Tommy Hilfiger‘s career in fashion started in high school back in 1969 when he opened a small chain of stores called People’s Place. He began designing for several boutiques and decided to pursue a career as a full time fashion designer in New York City. With Mohan Murjani’s business support, he launched his first signature collection in 1985 with a youthful relaxed appeal, modern button-down shirts and updated designs of classics.

Tommy Hilfiger has also collaborated with legendary ad man George Lois in developing influential ad campaigns and media such as the “hangman ad” and the Iconic America: A Roller-Coaster Ride through the Eye-Popping Panorama of American Pop Culture book. In the 1990s, Tommy Hilfiger began featuring emerging talent such as Britney Spears and Lenny Kravitz in his ads. In 2009, the company launched Hilfiger Denim blending quality denim jeans, modern designs and the dynamic music industry. In 2010, Phillips-Van Heusen, owner of Calvin Klein, bought the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation.

For 25 years, the brand has brought classic yet modern American apparel all over the world. Under his guidance, the Tommy Hilfiger Group has become one of very few globally recognized designer brands offering a wide range of American-inspired apparel and accessories.

H&M was established in Västerås, Sweden in 1947 by Erling Persson through their women’s clothing store called Hennes. In 1968, the founder, Erling Persson, bought the hunting/fishing equipment shop and menswear/kids clothing line, Mauritz Widforss. Eventually the company name Hennes (Swedish for “her or hers or women”) was modified to Hennes & Mauritz. Later on, it was abbreviated to H&M.

The 1970s brought H&M‘s listing on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and an international store in London. The 1980s saw shops open in Germany and the Netherlands including the acquisition of a mail order company called Rowells. Further to the 1990s, H&M continued to expand in Europe and massive advertising gained more exposure. The new millenium brought H&M its first US store in New York, several collaborations with famous personalities and designers, an ecommerce expansion and more openings in Asia such as Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. In 2007, the concept store COS was launched. In 2008, the company acquired the FaBric Scandinavien AB with Weekday, Monki and Cheap Monday brands. By 2011, H&M already launched stores in Russia, Lebanon, South Korea, Israel, Romania and many more. The brand has also expanded into different markets such as home collection, cosmetics, accessories and footwear. H&M carries the &denim jeans among its various jeanswear line.

Launched in 2004 by Anton Juul, Mikkel Gronnebaek and Tobia Sloth, Norse Projects is a menswear brand mixing elements of streetwear and work wear then refining them into a Scandinavian inspired high quality product. Norse Projects is known for its simple and classic designs with basic workwear functionalities. The label is influenced by the Scandinavian environment but injected with that cool street culture edge. Since its inaugural full collection launched in 2009, Norse Projects has expanded to notable retail stores in the United States, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Europe.

On the other hand, their original muse, the Norse Store, has already been established as one of Northern Europe’s best street and footwear boutiques. It is located in the heart of Copenhagen by King’s Gardens. The brick and mortar shop specializes in menswear with work apparel, outdoor clothing, sportswear and Japanese specialty products.

One of China’s luxury lifestyle brands with an international presence is Shanghai Tang. Founded in in 1994 by Hong Kong businessman David Tang Wing Cheung, the fashion house is inspired by traditional Han Chinese or Silk Robe clothing. Shanghai Tang also aims to be a global ambassador of contemporary Chinese Chic as it blends Chinese historical landmarks, heritage and craftsmanship with modern styles and dynamic designs of the 21st century.

Shanghai Tang also houses a unique Imperial Tailoring collection that offers custom or made-to-measure services supported by the fine art of traditional Shanghainese tailoring from Sifus or master tailors. The Chinese luxury brand also leads the Mandarin Collar Society to promote a modern chic element through the use of the mandarin collar as an alternative to the traditional necktie.

Shanghai Tang offers ready-to-wear apparel, including denim jeans, for men, women and children. Today the brand has expanded to accessories, home ware and lifestyle experiences through lounge music collections and the Shanghai Tang Café that offers a modern Chinese cuisine experience. From a colorful and nostalgic art deco store in Hong Kong, the company has increased its presence into an international network of 40 boutiques in the world’s most prestigious shopping districts, including Shanghai, Singapore, New York, Las Vegas, Moscow, Dubai, Frankfurt, Paris, London and Madrid.
