Founded by Robert Schaeffer, Schaeffer’s Garment Hotel is a full service retail store, denim repair, alteration and denim manufacturing company located on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood, California. The shop also houses resident film and custom hat maker, Mr. Gunner Foxx. Aside from the repair shop, Schaeffer’s Garment Hotel is also a denim brand and manufactures denim jeans in the store’s shop area itself. They run Japanese or American made shuttle loom denim. The house brand denim is a 15oz selvege fabric available as raw dry denim to a custom desired comfort level of break in.

The denim specialists take every pair of jeans seriously as if they were their own. The owner ran locally known Denim Doctors for more than 4 years before he ventured into his own shop. Most of Schaeffer’s Garment Hotel staff have over 20 years of experience and they do basic work from original hems, leg tapering, waist reduction and patch work to more detailed personalized repairs. They have special machines and threads for most rare and new brands in the market today. Although they specialize in vintage denim, you can bring in your $10 pair to your most expensive and rarest Japanese denim jeans.
