Were you milk fed when you were a baby? Either natural breast milk or formula, chances are, you did. Humans, as well as mammals in the animal kingdom, were milk fed when they were infants.

But the real question is. Are you currently milk fed in style?

MILKFED. or Milk Fed is a Japanese fashion brand created by American screenwriter, film director and producer, Sofia Coppola in 1994. The label is focused on womenswear with petite or small/extra small sizes. Sofia Coppola is the daughter of one of Hollywood’s most innovative and influential film directors, Francis Ford Coppola. She interned with Karl Lagerfeld at the french fashion house Chanel. After a stint with X-girl, she launched her own brand, MILKFED. with Stephanie Hayman and Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon.

MILKFED.‘s style is a mixture of 1970s-80s Pop culture to classic American casual with a small dash of quirkiness on the side. The products are available at Coppola owned Heaven27 boutiques, international dealers and online stores such as calif and ZoZoTown.

Perhaps one of the most influential pairs in the history of the fashion world is none other than Dolce & Gabbana. Italian designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, started the company in 1985 in Milan, Italy with a debut collection at the Milano Collezioni New Talents. In 1989, they held their first women’s fashion show in Tokyo. The following year, the brand featured their first men’s collection. In 1990, Dolce & Gabbana opened their showroom in New York, 532 Broadway. The debut of another major line entitled, D&G Dolce&Gabbana, launched in 1994 as a youthful and contemporary apparel collection. Two years after, the company staged its first fashion show in New York for D&G Dolce&Gabbana. The new millennium brought collaborations with sports teams and famous personalities such as Madonna, introduction of sub-brand collections like D&G Junior, initiation of a new several fragrances & books, openings of international boutiques and flagship stores in major cities around the world.

Dolce & Gabbana has two central lines. Dolce&Gabbana, without spaces, specializes in luxury items. They are more formal and timeless and geared towards long-term trends. On the other hand, D&G, is a more casual line inspired by urban culture, youth movement and hyper trends of the changing seasons. Unfortunately, the D&G sub-brand is discontinued this year 2011.

Overall, Dolce & Gabbana is a luxury brand known for its stylistic originality and superior tailoring. It has been one of the forerunners of fashion utilizing its strong identity, innovation, unconventional designs and powerful Mediterranean flavour of its origins.

The numeral system of ancient Rome used combinations of letters from the Latin alphabet to signify values. The Roman numerals utilized the decimal system where the number 10 is its base. Today, these digits can be found in numbered lists of an article or document, clock faces, book sections or pages, names of monarchs or Popes, sequels of movies or video games and many more.

As such, the Roman numeral equaling 96 (XCVI) represents a Los Angeles, California based clothing brand founded by Gita Zeltzer in 1996. It was in this year that she introduced the first season of XCVI from a storefront on the famed Melrose Avenue. The success of the line paved way to collaborate with another designer, Lilia Gorodnitski. XCVI fashion is effortless, eclectic, bohemian and confident. It celebrates the strength and diversity of women.
