From custom tailoring infused with a painter’s eye to detail, Kasil denim‘s style is simplicity speaking through sleek lines and craftsmanship. Having worked with his father’s custom tailoring business, David Lim found himself in a serendipitous moment from scraps of denim around the atelier. By applying different procedures on the fabric, he realized the richness in textures and emotions flowing from it relative to his Fine Arts education and passion for painting.

In 2002, David Lim launched his denim collection and created the Kasil brand. Every Kasil jean is hand crafted and custom designed. The company, based in Los Angeles, California, uses premium Italian fabrics or authentic Japanese denim. The washes, fades and abrasions complement the contours of the body. The design innovations are not overdone but focus on sleek lines. As such, he considers his artistic style as “Painting with denim”.
