Albert Einstein has E=mc2. The mass–energy equivalence in physics is the concept that the mass of a body is a measure of its energy content. While in the style world, fashion equals DSquared2.

Dean and Dan Caten, Canadian twin brothers from Willowdale, Ontario, moved to New York City in 1983 to attend the Parson’s School of Design. After a short stint, they moved back to Toronto and pursued their first signature womens line, DEanDAN. Through the late 1980s and early 1990s, they managed to work with various designers and brands such as Ports 1961, Gianni Versace and Diesel. Since moving to Italy in 1991, Dean and Dan Caten finally debuted their first menswear collection named “Homesick Canada Collection” in Milan. In 1996, the “Napoli” collection, inspired by the Neapolitan roots of their father, also premiered.

When the new millennium came in, DSquared2, gained prominence and massive media exposure. In 2000, the brand created the wardrobe for Madonna’s video, Don’t Tell Me. In 2002, Madonna wore DSquared2 for the cowboy segment of her “Drowned World Tour 2002″ and their womenswear line launched in Milan. The decade saw DSquared2‘s expansion of its media presence through collaborations with well known personalities such as Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Fergie and Britney Spears. Designers, Dean and Dan Caten, also garnered many awards recognizing their talent and influence. Furthermore, the company also became active in sports and sponsored Turin’s soccer club, Juventus and Barcelona Football Club.

In the 1990s, “Naked and Famous” was the name of the song by post-grunge punk rock band The Presidents of the United States of America. Today, Naked & Famous is a jeans brand that uses the most unique and rare Japanese denim. The textile mills from Japan combine old school and modern methods to produce the kind of denim purists will love.

Controversially, Naked & Famous Denim is actually a satire of our celebrity obsessed culture. Newspaper and magazine headlines often replace viable news stories with a dumbed down glorified celebrity hype. “Hollywood” and “Glamour” brands sell hundreds of dollars for a pair of jeans which Ms. X wears. They sell at these accelerated prices not based on its quality but because it’s the new miracle drug.

To complement its satirical namesake, the Naked & Famous Denim logo is inspired by a 1950′s Pop Art. During that era, the “ideal blonde” was a satire of mass media and culture.

Canadian brand, Naked & Famous Denim, is all about raw and simple. No washes. No embroidery. No embellishments. No knick knacks. No gimmicks. They showcase their denim jeans with modern fits and the best fabric that comes from Japan.

Jesus is in charge. Young and free. Make good choices today. In 1987, Canadian identical twins Chip Foster and Pepper Foster founded their own apparel company known as Chip and Pepper Wetwear in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The brand propagated with their advertising slogan “Young and Free.” Unfortunately, a demise occurred in the early 1990s, but later on, the brand was resurrected in 2003. Launched in Los Angeles, California, USA, Chip and Pepper became a cult favorite among celebrities and hipsters alike.

The men’s denim collection has 5 categorical fits: Straight Cut, Bootcut, Relaxed Fit, Skinny and Trouser. On the other hand, women’s denim line has 8: Flare, Straight Leg, Trouser leg, Bootcut, Skinny, Capris, Shorts and Skirts.

It was 1921 when Western Glove Works in Winnipeg, Canada came into being. The first generation Silver family built a garment factory to produce leather gloves and denim work wear. Today, the company, with the leadership of Michael Silver, prides itself as one of the few remaining denim manufacturers housing its own sewing, laundry and sandblasting facilities. With the inception of the designer jeans 1921 brand and the creative collaboration with Allan Kemp, Western Glove Works now markets itself not only in North America but also in Europe, United States and Asia.

1921 jeans boasts of many product features:

Their premium designer denim is made by Kaihara Japan from an authentic ring spun machinery.

Side seams are busted to the waistband for a flat smooth finish.

Each model has a unique zigzag color stitch to reinforce the side seam.

Innovative indigo shades and a thicker topstitch thread are used to give an authentic look.

Back pockets of the jeans are scaled exactly to size without automatic pocket setting machines.

The waistband label is a self fabric to achieve a vintage jeans look.

The hang tag, also of the same fabric, allows seamless repatching.

Maximum use of denim materials is achieved through same fabric processes on jean parts.

Eco friendly washes include no environmentally harmful chemicals, only natural stones and water.

Hand made wear areas on jeans to keep original tear and tensile strength.

Designer jeans 1921 brand is unique. It is an identity created for the joy of making jeans. The best quality Japanese fabrics are used. The designer denim collections are crafted to be worn for many years and throughout different trends. Even though times have changed, Western Glove Works still keeps its tradition of original care, value dedication and quality that it has maintained for the last 86 years. With over 40 million pairs of jeans produced, the company continues to uphold its mission and devotion. “Care about the jeans you make and someone will be wearing them for a long time.”
