Eddie Bauer is known today not just for its outdoor clothing but also how it integrated its brand in Ford vehicles, car seats, strollers, diaper bags, camping gear, lane furniture and even interior paint. The company was established in 1920 in Seattle by Pacific Northwest outdoorsman Eddie Bauer. In the 1930s, he was able to patent a regulation badminton shuttlecock and the “Skyliner” which is the first quilted goose down jacket in North America. Eddie Bauer was also the first independent company to incorporate their logo in the United States Army uniform. Currently, the brand has collaborated with Whittaker Mountaineering and Rainier Mountaineering, Inc to produce an expedition outfitting called First Ascent.
