From crazy characters named TWERPS! and Lobster Roll, Mikhail Bortnik and Greg Rivera joined forces to launch the Mishka brand in 2003. Their unique aesthetic gets its roots more from punk rock and gore hound than urban bling.
Mishka is a Russian word for a bear cub. The brand personifies something that is fierce yet playful. In the streetwear scene, Mishka embodies Indie rock, underground punk, hardcore, skate and pop culture.
The fashion company often works with emerging artists who showcase unique graphic concepts. Obscure and oddball artistic references are seen through their numerous apparel, graphic shirts and hats. One might be familiar with Caligelujah, Cyco Simon, Eye Scream, 8 Bit Death Adder, Bike Chain Mop, Bat reaper, Destined to Fester, Shield Protect Thy Master and many more.
Today, the Mishka brand, famous for graphic apparel and denim jeans, is available not only in the United States but internationally as well. Stockists include Australia, Canada, UK and Asia. Mishka is based in Brooklyn, New York.
