Some say “suu-wee”. In Polish it’s pronounced as “she-vay” or “she-veh”. But in actuality, the correct pronunciation is “see-wee”. Think of seaweed.
Regarded today as one of the most wanted denim labels, Siwy jeans was founded in Spring 2005 in downtown New York City by Michelle Siwy, a half Vietnamese and half Polish Rhode Island native. She has developed a signature look through long lean slimming shapes, shortened curved hem, quilted pocket lifts on the back and seams that follow the natural curves. Furthermore, its vintage Americana feel has its hand crafted labels made out of original feedsack cloth.
By combining Los Angeles’ prowess in denim washing, sewing and manufacturing with New York’s cutting edge styles in fashion, the Siwy brand has garnered a celebrity cult following including Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Selma Blair, Rachel Bilson, Nicole Richie, Hilary Duff and a lot more. Siwy denim has now expanded its distribution internationally to North America, Canada, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.
