It’s a jean of pigs invasion! Flying Pigs. Greedy Pigs. Air Pig. Frightful Pignad Bomb. Piggy the Sailorpig. Fastest Pig. Alpha Delta Pig.

And yet, Muppet’s Miss Pigathius “Piggy” Lee may be a fan when she sees inscriptions like these:

  • “If we pour love, this pig will bring us happiness. It is [sic] lucky God.”
  • “Alabuta. D’Artisan Denim Frontier. Success doesn’t come to you. You go to it.”
  • “When the pig die [sic], the pig will surely go to heaven. The pig spent his time in hell.
  • “Legend of Pig Slinger. Every pig has it’s [sic] each guns. Dead or Alive.”
  • “Worn by Champion Pigboys. All clothing just fit [sic] and supreme wear. Great Bluedenim.”

But for designer jeans enthusiasts and denim purists, it’s all natural and a fun part of the Studio D’Artisan jean culture. Some fashionable declarations prevalent on their tags, labels and graphics show:

  • “Osaka, Japan presents Genuine Denim jeans original design Made with many pigs.”
  • “Special Quality. D’Artioil. Japanese Jeans.”
  • “Studio D’Artisan. Made in Japan. Special Edition Jeans. American Village Osaka. Design Only Original Cotton 100% Indigo Denim. Last Generation Denim OAX. Since 1979.”
  • “Natural Japan Indigo Poligonium Tinctorium Hand Dye”

Among the most highly respected denim brands in Japan and around the world is Studio D’Artisan, which launched 1979. Manufacturing procedures still honor and adhere to the classic and traditional ways in which original shuttle looms and hand made production are of utmost priority. The jeans are designed in Osaka and produced in Okayama. The pig or “buta” signature logo made the designer denim jeans brand, Studio D’Artisan, more recognizable than ever. This element of humor spiced up its fashion identity.
