An apple a day is the glamorous way. Founded in August 2003, Apple Bottoms jeans and clothing line is a creative collaboration between multi-platinum artist Nelly, Yomi Martin and Ian Kelly. The brand kicked off with a nationwide model search for the “Apple Bottoms Girl” on VH1. Popularity of the jeans grew and the televised exposure gained media attention. In April 2004, Apple Bottoms teamed up with Picked Fresh, LLC for a new venture. ICER Brands, LLC also holds exclusive rights to its marketing and product development. To name a few, Apple Bottoms jeans have been worn by Oprah, Vivica Fox, Fergie, Ashanti. Today, it has blended well in pop culture. One proof is that the term “Apple Bottoms jeans” was featured in the song “Low” by Flo Rida with T-Pain. The brand has branched out from a denim collection into sportswear, intimates, swimsuits, accessories and a lot more.
Apple Bottoms jeans has a big collection. There are five main categories for their denim line.
- Signature Apple Pocket: Heavily embroidered back pockets with Apple Bottoms signature details, Apple shaped pockets and embellishments.
- AB Stitch: Apple Bottoms initials (AB) embroidered on back pockets, slanted top on back pockets and embellishments.
- Fashion Denim: Off the wall cuts and styles which explore on heavy embroidery, retro cuts, high waist with multiple button flies and jean accessory attachments like a pair of suspenders.
- Skinny: Tight and slim, hugs the hip through the legs down to the ankles
- Cropped: three quarter length hemlines or above the knee cuts, good for a casual look or for spring-summer months
