Kalisz is a city in Poland considered to be an important industrial and commercial region of the country. The town is the oldest Polish municipality since Ptolemy, in history, referred to it as Calisia. Kalisz is also the hometown of denim manufacturer Big Star Jeans.
Futuristic refinement. Arctic Safari. Big Star Jeans’ fall-winter 2008-2009 collections is a combination of futurism and classicism. Jeans features dark shades of blue to cool polar navy dyes. Winter is wrapped in lush knitwear, padded sweatshirts, supple fur, textured fleece and down vests.
Big Star Jeans’ Distorted Chic clothing line shows its futuristic refinement. Modern pictograms with classic patterns such as stripes, plaids, checks and dogstooth print are used. Low key colors are shown in dark, subdued black or grey values. Green and purple accents complement the grayscale. More refined cotton are blended with elastane and viscose. Overall, its minimal yet plays between street and formal fashion.
On the other hand, Big Star Jeans’ Arctic Safari clothing line shows a range of greys, blues and navy blues to reflect the polar landscape. Warmer shades of purple, green and red spice it up with its African rites and rituals appeal. This adventure feature chunky knitwear, thick weaves and multiple layering.
Big Star Jeans is already a star in Poland and now a rising star worldwide. Their current campaign “It’s a Big Star” is just a comical way to express growth in style.
