The Roaring 20th Century is in full effect. With jean styles coined after classic silver screen icons, the 18th Amendment jeans signature showcases the legendary feminine elegance of the 1920s and 1930s.
During the United States history of the period known as the Prohibition, Congress, with the Volstead Act, passed the 18th Amendment banning the manufacture, sale, export, import and transportation of alcoholic beverages. With this predicament, an era of speakeasies sprung as an outcry. Various high class establishments and supper clubs covertly sold alcoholic drinks and cocktails concurrent with their elaborate food selection, flashy jazz music, glamorous floor shows, enticing stripteases and even rampant corruption.
In the case for 18th Amendment jeans, their spirit is ignited with the allure of the speakeasy culture. The signature back pocket wing logo was inspired by the luxurious 1930’s Rolls Royce Flying Lady. Modern elegance came from iconic film figures of old Hollywood.
Lollobrigida Gun jean style is a high waist skinny fit straight cut 5 pocket jeans with art-deco wing logo stitching detail. The denim is named after 1950-60s Golden Globe Award winning Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida.
Furthermore, the Bacall Queen of Hearts Jeans in Raw is also a high waisted jeans aptly coined after the classic Hollywood star Lauren Bacall. The cut has a wide leg appeal and show a long line that slims the waist. The dark wash have contrasting orange blue stitching. There are also heart shaped front pockets and embroidered heart detail below the back waistband.
Moreover, American screen icon and singer, Judy Garland is the inspiration for the Garland Glory jeans. This is a low to mid waisted stretch denim with extra long slim leg & extra bootcut in medium indigo wash. It has scooped front pockets and that unique 18th Amendment jeans back pocket Flying Lady stitch detail and logos.
Launched in Sydney, Australia in 2006 and founded by Rachel Rose and designed by Rebecca Dawson, 18th Amendment jeans will continue to have its silver screen iconic charm for fashionistas worldwide.
