What’s the best way to remember a birthday? Write it on a pair of designer jeans. Nice. And if you write your own birthday on the clothes you make, I’m pretty sure you’ll get loads of greetings and even gifts on your special day. So you need to get ready with the overflow of text messages on your iPhone soon. In good humor, 575 Denim, now called May 75 jeans, was founded by Frank Mechaly. Born in Marseille, France and raised in St.Tropez. Mechaly, together with southern California native, Shaun Hurley, from Sacred Blue, made a partnership to develop the 575 Denim/ May 75 brand into a classic yet cutting edge jeans brand.

The 575 Denim/ May 75 Jeans home is located in Downtown Los Angeles, California. They have over 200 people in staff on site to sew, grind, sand, tack and wash every pair of jeans. The designer jeans are produced in-house with Italian and Japanese fabrics. With that laid back Los Angeles lifestyle, the brand has garnered recognition among Hollywood celebrities and worn on many TV shows. 575 Denim/ May 75 Jeans was also featured as one of the top celebrity worn jeans during the 2006 Sundance Film Festival by Hollywood Life Magazine. Due to the growing demand, they have also launched a children’s line.

Various designer denim styles include but not limited to the 575 Denim Palace in straight leg, the 575 Denim/ May 75 Butcher jeans in vintage straight, Vagabond jeans in light wash snug and straight, 575 Denim/ May 75 Parliament jeans in low rise and skinny and the Seersucker Trim jeans in dark wash orange topstitching with faded and distressed whiskers.

The 575 Denim/ May 75 washes vary from “The Frank”, “The Beverly Hills” to “The Farmers”. All point to the myriad of interests and landmarks in Los Angeles.

575 Denim/ May 75 jeans does not only showcase the outdoorsy Los Angeles lifestyle or the unique intricate details as a penny button closure but also reflects a more personal touch created from the founders’ passion to quality denim. By the way, if all else fails, that penny button closure on your designer jeans may likely pass for extra change on the parking meter.
